The Mackillop Learning Hub at our Regents Park campus serves the learning and recreational needs of our Years 7 and 8 students. The Hub is an energetic and inviting space where students can dive into learning and creativity. The Hub has a literacy focus and is the setting for literacy lessons which strengthen students’ reading skills, highlighting the importance of literacy across all areas of learning. Throughout the year, the Hub is a showcase of student talent. The variety of displays has sparked admiration and inspired discussions, reinforcing the Hub’s role as a place where creativity is celebrated. It is also a crucial space for supporting students in their learning journeys with additional learning support programs, students receive tailored assistance to help them succeed. The MacKillop Learning Hub is a place where students can learn, connect and have fun in an environment that balances academic growth with a sense of community.

The Auburn Campus Library is a welcoming, contemporary place offering light, comfort and flexible learning spaces for students and staff. During class time, it is a teaching area, particularly for research-based subjects such as Extension History, Society and Culture and Extension English who regularly seek feedback on their major writing tasks. At recess and lunchtime, students come to study here, whether collaboratively, such as using the whiteboard table tops to work out a Maths problem, or as individuals in the “Silence is Golden” room. This silent room is a place where students can truly get away from it all, whether it be to prepare themselves for an assessment task or to focus on an activity. The Library is also a place for recreational activities with friends and is well-stocked with board and card games, puzzles, various origami which decorate our circulation desk and art supplies. Whilst chess remains the most popular game, we also have a very enthusiastic mahjong club. Games Club is offered on Thursday after sport. We offer students wide reading suggestions they can access from both our physical and digital ebooks and audiobook collection. Students can also print and scan, charge their laptops, and borrow equipment. Wellbeing and academic support is at the heart of what we do.
